Say hello to Snapt, a brand new app from price comparison site comparethemarket.com, which lets you see if you’re getting the best price for your energy bills by just taking a photo. Read on to find out how it’s done.

Launched on the iPhone App Store today, Snapt does away with you having to do all the work of having to call up and talk to energy companies, or even input your details on comparethemarket.com, as all you need to do is just snap a photo. Take a  picture of your energy bill, and Snapt will look around for the best energy tariff within 10 minutes.

It’s not done by a computer either, as the Snapt team themselves will take a look at your bill and report back with the best deals possible. The app’s designed to make it as easy as possible to see how much you can save – and once you’ve taken a look at the findings, you just need to follow the steps – according to Snapt, you could reduce your annual bill by as much as £350. The app makers have also said there’s an Android version coming shortly – now if only someone could do this for car insurance too.
