D’Prince was born as Charles Enebeli in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. Coming from a musical family, with a father being a musical production manager, he was surrounded with music from an early age. His oldest brother, Don Jazzy, followed in their father’s footsteps by setting up his own label Mo'Hits.
D’Prince first attended Kings College in Lagos for his secondary level education before he decided to follow his passion in music. He founded his label Sagitarious productions, but then got signed to his brother’s record label Mo'Hits. The latter had already signed other well known Nigerian artists like D’Banj, Wande Coal and Dr.Sid.
Together called the Mo’hits Allstars, their collective album ‘Curriculum Vitae’, released in 2008, became very popular and included hits like 'Be Close To You', 'Booty Call' and 'Move Your Body'.
